The list is long. We live it every day. At least for those of us who choose to pay attention.
Perhaps they are right, those who choose to be very selective in the volume of toxic current events they consume. It is important to safeguard one’s personal healthy boundaries, for peace and sanity.
But the long list still exists.
The list of day after day, story after story, of corruption and chaos in every imaginable form: from all-out war to long TSA lines, from nasty presidential comments to genocide in Gaza, from bullying and strong-arming of allies and our own congress, to terror in the streets and the unceremonious obliteration of fisherman in the sea; the lies, the cover-ups, the constant stream of unprecedented crossings of ethical boundaries, norms and laws, continues at a nauseating clip.
“The List” could fill a thousand pages. And so what? Why should one care if there’s basically nothing any of us can do about it? At least not at this moment.
PERSPECTIVE IS EVERYTHING
How do you take this great big ball of creepy vile wax and form it into something of True Value? Something you can use. Something that will make a difference. Right here, right now.
Just as diamonds start out as coal, intense hot pressure eventually burns away that which was catalyst to reveal the precious gem waiting to emerge.
Our Precious Gem is CLARITY. Born of the tumultuous strife of the day, Clarity is the North Star back to sanity and balance.
But it comes at a cost.
PAIN IS GOOD
Pain is the great equalizer that crystallizes that which works from that which does not.
Pain is a signal. It lets us know where something is out-of-balance; the greater the pain, the greater the imbalance and the more urgently Conscious Awareness and Intention are required to reestablish equilibrium.
When we’ve had enough pain, we Wake Up.
Indeed, this is the Purpose of Pain.
When we Wake Up and bring things back into Balance, there is no longer any need for pain, the trend gets reversed from the direction of even more pain, to the direction of Healing, Balance and Wholeness.
REFOCUS IS THE ONLY ESSENTIAL
We are not the coal, we are the diamond born from the heat of intense pain. Even the physical act of giving birth requires intense pain. But as most mothers will tell you, oh so worth it!
So, let’s focus on the diamond rather than the coal.
As Abraham-Hicks has repeated for decades: When you know what you don’t want, you know what you do want.
Simplistic yet profound.
Do we really want masked agents terrorizing our cities and towns, bus stations and construction sites, hospitals and immigration offices, parent school lines and Home Depot parking lots?
The obvious Clarity of this situation is not lost on the vast majority of Americans.
Most people are able to Recognze a basic principle of Life: Human Decency
Huna Wisdom says, There’s no such thing as win/lose. There’s only win/win or lose/lose. Because we are all connected in Spirit.
How you treat anyone else, for any reason, is the same as doing that to yourself in the spiritual sense. Karma.
Seems like it wouldn’t need to be said, but apparently those obvious, glaring Truths must be repeated lest we fall into the enticing delusion of aggrandizing superiority.
“The care of human life and happiness, and not their destruction, is the first and only legitimate object of good government.” Thomas Jefferson, 1809
WHAT DO WE WANT?
Perhaps the government of which Thomas Jefferson spoke.
Do we want a government that basically only serves those who have the most power? Or do we want a government that serves all of its citizens in a way that has no need to denigrate others.
Can we serve all Americans, and at the same time, serve those who are not? Is that “fair”?
Do we make a distinction between “documented” and “undocumented”, citizen / noncitizen?
And to what extent do we extend our services to everyone?
While questions of allocation of resources is certainly a judicious discussion to have, it most certainly should not have to come at the expense of undo suffering and pain towards anyone, within our borders or not.
The bottom line, spiritually, morally and ethically speaking, is that power that is used to take advantage of the powerless, is way, way out-of-balance. It will cause pain to not only those being used and scapegoated, but also to those who are perpetuating it.
It may seem at first that in this World of Form some will get away with their crimes, but ultimately it’s just bad juju.
What goes around, does indeed come around, eventually.
Win/lose is ALWAYS lose/lose.
SANITY, INTEGRITY AND COMPASSION
Balance and sanity will be restored when Integrity and Compassion are Recognized as the medicine for pain.
Integrity – literally means bringing all the pieces back together to restore wholeness. It means that without integrity, there is no sound structure, no basic framework for balance and forward movement.
Without Integrity it’s an ego-driven free-for-all. Look out for #1. Law of the jungle. Might makes right.
Integrity is Recognizing the value of “the care of human life and happiness.” Your happiness is my happiness. Your safety is my safety. Your wellbeing is my wellbeing. Regardless of who you are or where you were born.
It’s Recognized and understood that rising above the mud of confusion, chaos and corruption, is a WIN/WIN for everyone.
As Jesus so succinctly put it:
Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me. (Matthew 25:40)
He spoke this in the Parable of the Sheep and the Goats where He explains that caring for the hungry, the sick, the imprisoned, and the marginalized is literally how we honor Him.
And why should we honor Him?
Because He gave us the Key to Balance. And when we restore Balance to our society, our systems and our government, by restoring Integrity, we remove the need for pain.
When we Recognize that Compassion is just a soft, fluffy way of saying Intergrity— we will restore Balance and remove the need for pain.
Spiritual Truths and Principles may seem like superfluous unnecessary information. In truth it is simply the underpinning of the Foundation we ALL stand upon– whether we know it or not.
We can spin wheels of drama and pain until the cows come home, nothing will change until we Wake Up and Recognize these truths and adjust accordingly.
We can use the Easy Key of Integrity that opens the Door to Balance, Wholeness and what works for Everyone.
Or not. You get to choose.
A smile and say “hello” to a stranger, holding the door for a wheelchair bound, donating to a worthy cause, a prayer for someone in pain.
When you find a reason for Joy and Happiness you bring that energy into this world.
In the midst of national chaos, Kindness, Compassion and Integrity are superpowers we can all CHOOSE, every day. It matters and it makes a difference.
Aloha!
